ALRIGHT, LET'S

MAKE THIS QUICK

Wholistically Considered

When designing the INITIAM VR game, I knew that since one of the main affordances of Virtual Reality is that you can engage with media physically, it would be key to design it in a way that would be key to engage the user physically.

In the Unity game-building engine, 2D planes can only be seen from one side, so I designed it in a way that the player had to duck down to enter a space and then stand up through the ceiling to reveal a key plot point in the game–using the Unity's back end mechanics to the advantage of the game, the player, and the designer.

Timelessly
Purposeful

A huge part of creative work is establishing aesthetics. In my work, I strive to create for now and for the future by letting the use and context of an aesthetic inform the choices I make.

When designing the logo and branding for Aria Event Center, Durham NC, I only worked in black and white and sought inspiration from Persian architectural detailing and iconic signatures.

Culturally Informed

In this branding project for Changshun Provence in  China, we didn't want to bulldoze the existing visual culture, so we created a logo that could become a framework for other visuals to live within. (Our design is in yellow, with potential local visuals in empty spaces)
